Theme of the day - Poverty

One of the most powerful action we can take to improve the world is to eradicate extreme poverty. These are the people living in slums, who have to sell their children or put them to work or marry them off because they can't afford to feed them. 

With extreme poverty comes a lack of women and children's rights, a lack of education, a lack of health, and increased issues with finding legitimate work. 

People in poverty have a greater foot print when it comes to climate change. The number of people in poverty put a lot of strain on assistance programs and organizations. 

When people are given the opportunity to climb out of poverty, they become tax-paying citizens that are more informed and more equipped to live a more proactive lifestyle.
