-- Product Review --

I am extremely impressed with the generosity and professionalism of Martin, marketing rep for Natural Tonus & Power company, who around May 21st sent me 6 of their products – which I decided to split into *2 review articles, with 3 products reviewed in each article. I received the order on May 28th and we were able to pick up the product via the US postal service on May 30th (we’re located a few miles north of the US border). The company is based in Elkhart, Indiana (USA).

In this article I will review:

Natural Moisturizing Oil – 100% Pure Organic Moroccan Argan Oil

Maximum Strength – Natural Hair Formula

Powerful Anti-aging Formula – Natural Cutey Renew

Find these and other products offered through this company at: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_dp_s_web_3760911?ie=UTF8&field-brandtextbin=Natural+Tonus%26Power&node=3760911

Natural Moisturizing Oil – 100% Pure Organic Moroccan Argan Oil  is intended for daily use in creating shiny, smooth, luxurious and healthy hair and skin. It comes in a 120 ml (4 fl. oz.) brown glass bottle with a rubber tipped dropper (offers more sanitary and user-friendly application of product) – and retails for $24.95 (US) on Amazon.com. The first thing I noticed about this product was the nice sized text on the label, you don’t need a magnifying glass or get a cramp in your neck trying to read it.

This product contains, quite simply pure certified organic Moroccan argan oil, there’s nothing else listed in the ingredients. The directions recommend applying to freshly cleansed skin by smoothing a small amount over the face, neck and body – anywhere on the skin. Whereas for the hair they recommend that we apply to damp poor dry hair and style as you would normally – however when I tried applying just one drop in my hands then sliding the hands over my hair just after a shower, my ultra fine hair was kind of greasy looking. I have read that it is better to add a few drops to a bottle of conditioner instead, which I plan to try next.

I’d not hear of or tried argan oil before and other than knowing it is to be applied topically only, I knew virtually nothing about it… so I did a little research online… via Natural.ca I learned that it can protect skin from weather extremes, strengthen nails and hair, alleviate dry/itchy scalp and not only moisturize skin, but can also be used for massages. For a dry hair treatment one should apply about 5 ml or so to the hair, work into damp hair and scalp; leave on for several hours and then wash out. It can also be applied to existing stretch marks but also to prevent stretch marks (i.e. during pregnancy). The plant itself has natural anti-oxidant properties, vitamin # and omega 6 fatty acid. The oil is usually cold-pressed from the nuts produced by this tree (argania spinosa) – which grows in the South Western area of Morocco.  Wikipedia tells us that the tree can grow 10 meters high and has a long life span of up to 200 years. The trees are gnarly, with thorns, with small oval leaves and small yellow flowers in April. The fruit is a kind of pulpy thing that surrounds a nut – used to make this oil. Interestingly it takes a year for the fruit to mature. Once the oil is extracted there is a remaining paste like product – that is used to feed animals. I have also read online that the oil is sometimes sweetened or roasted and used in the kitchen – but this product I am reviewing today is for external use only. I also learned this product works well for eye circles and burns, sooth arthritis, prevent cancer, .

I didn’t notice any scent at tall with this product at all, during an evening application on both my feet (after a shower) and was thrilled to find how soft my feet felt after just one application. I also put some oil on my knees and elbows and nail beds of both hands and feet. The results were fantastic – and I intend on applying this product regularly in this way.

Maximum Strength – Natural Hair Formula – is a dietary supplement that supports lustrous hair growth. Each blue plastic bottle (recyclable) offers 90 tablets and retails for $29.95 (US) at Amazon.com. There are plenty of warnings on the label to keep out of reach of children – this product is for adult use only. Directions suggest taking 3 tablets per day with food, so I would assume this means one per meal (breakfast/lunch/supper). The ingredients reads like a multi-vitamin with: sodium, vitamin a, vitamin C, calcium, iron, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamins B1 B6 B12, niacin, folic acid (iron), biotin, pantothenic acid, phosphorus, iodine, magnesium, zinc, selenium and manganese… along whit choline bitartrate, magnesium, silica, cellulose, rose hips, citrus bioflavnoid complex and betaine hydrochloride and rutin.

I am quite excited to try this product out – which I expect will take some months to see results – as I have always had thin hair (lots of it, but thin) and my husband – who is over 50 – is noticing a few thinning spots showing on his scalp after a shower. The bottle doesn’t say anything about being only for women so I’m assuming it would be appropriate for him to take as well. The combination of nutrients are supposed to thicken and encourage growth of healthy, shiny hair; expect 6-8 weeks before you see results. The pills are of a comfortable size, easy to swallow and have no odor or aftertaste.

The final product I received from this company is Powerful Anti-aging Formula – Natural Cutey Renew. This is another dietary supplement that comes housed in a large clear plastic bottle with a solid white screw-top lid. The bottle is much larger than necessary, the 30 clear capsules (containing a cream colored powder) use less than a third of the bottle, which seems like a lot of wasted space. The rest is air really and a tiny bit of cotton off to one side, which is pretty much useless in protecting the pills (see picture below). The directions are to take one pill per day and the label warns to not exceed the recommended dose, and to keep out of the reach of children – this is for adults only. It contains: vitamins A (5000 IU/ 100% daily value), C (60 mg / 100% daily value), D (400 IU/ 100% daily value), and E (30 IU/ 100% daily value), as well as some gelatin. This product can reduce the signs of aging because it gets rid of bags under the eyes, firms skin and reduces the appearance of age spots. In just a few weeks I did indeed notice smoother skin and my face did look more youthful.

The supplement products do not state whether it is safe to take with other daily multi-vitamin supplements. However when I asked Martin about this he stated "All products can be used by males/females
There is no restrictions to use together with other supplements, but it's RECOMMENDED to Consult with Health Care Practitioner/Physician."
