Big Business, Green Initiatives

-- Big Business Initiatives --

While there is no doubt there are a lot of negative issues with big business and a consumerism society that buys cheaper products manufactured with questionable ethics - things are changing and we are seeing amazing improvements. As such I'd like to spread hope and optimism about the future of our world by celebrating one company's efforts to network with their suppliers and create positive change:

Wal-Mart collaborated with their suppliers in committing to 5 key areas toward sustainability:

-       Increasing economic value for cities by reducing disposal fees and from sale of recyclable and re-purpose commodities.
-       Creating local jobs and engaging the community
-       Increasing post-consumer recycled materials in products, labels, packaging, etc.
-       Preserving natural resources
-       Facilitating recycling investments
