Recycling Rare Materials

-- Quote of the Day --

“Delegating is a huge success strategy; if you are not willing to delegate you can only get to a certain level of success – you have to be willing to open your hand and hand off some of the things in it otherwise your hand is always full and you aren’t able to take on anything else. …We began giving the staff a bonus if they could keep me off the floor, so that I could run the business from the office. …It is critically important that you continue to grow because what worked 5 years ago is not likely going to work now. …With the cycle of success, how life works: setting a goal and making progress toward the goal the likely hood is that we are going to get stuck along the way. …The process is progress, progress, stuck and unstuck again. So if you can shorten the process between stuck and unstuck it will increase your production in life, you’ll be happier, and provide a better service to the public.”

An area in Western Japan have begun a new program that allows for the recycling of rare earth metals obtained from fluorescent light bulbs and tubes - the first program of its kind in the country.  They also will extract fluorescent powder, collecting it in containers and then extracting incredibly rare elements such as yttrium - and expect to be able to supply up to 12% of the demand for rare metals and elements like this for Japanese manufacturers. They hope to be able to refine the process to be more efficient and increase recycling facilities for the public - enabling them to produce more recycled materials in the future.
