-- Quote of the Day --

"Any day is beautiful,
When it has been touched
By laughter."

~ Author Unknown

I started out pretty awful this morning... not feeling 100% and waking up feeling more tired than when I went to bed, I started the early morning chores - making lunches, doing dishes, taking care of the dogs, and early office work. During these early morning chores it seemed everything I touched hit the ground, at least once. I must have given myself a half-dozen bonks from not watching where I was going or hitting my hand on a partially opened kitchen drawer... *sigh* - But as today's quote states, I found some laughter and it washed all the misery away. My best-loved fur-kids (the dogs) are a sure fire way to inspire a smile and a laugh or two... Especially Skyla - who is such a goof! ...thank goodness for the loving animals in our lives. :)

36 students and their teacher pooled their efforts together and came up with a plan to raise awareness of things we can do to deal with global warming. Their project was called "The Sunflower Project", which involved growing over 2000 sunflower plants and harvesting the seeds for oil. That oil was used at a doughnut stand and the waste oil was converted to a bio-diesel fuel. This must have been an exciting and fun project for the youth involved, but the most amazing thing is the worldwide coverage they were able to bring to the project. As well, their doughnut stand served the people passing by, while educating them along the way.
